One of the great things about photography is expecting the unexpected and being there to see and capture it when it unfolds. The rising of the sun brings with it many different personal feelings unique to our individual situations and experiences. To me (Jerry-Dominique), it means a refreshing new start to an important page in this big book called life. We must brace the unknown day ahead with renewed energy to face whatever life sends our way. As I watched the sun rise one early morning, a few clouds slowly traversed her front casting shadows on Lake Michigan. Slowly but surely, thousands of sun rays were cast through the clouds to glitter and dance on the lazy waves below. To me, this alluded to the many opportunities in life that lay ahead of me that day (and each day) waiting for me to find them and use them to my advantage. Like Nina Simone said in "Feeling Good," "It's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life, and I'm feeling good...."

Cheers to a new day and the hope it brings.
