Getting caught up on things is a huge task when you have a bunch of changes and new things in your life to take care of. I'll be loading up on my blog more frequently, but here are some fall color shots I took a few months ago. What's there to say about the Fall? End of the summer? Time to fatten up and prepare for hibernation? Thanksgiving, Halloween...........? Well, we all know that the best thing about fall is the burst of fiery colors that explode on the land as green chlorophyll disappears from leaves allowing yellow, red, brown and orange hues to appear. As the length of the day shortens, the amount of light needed for photosynthesis (food making process in plants) is reduced, therefore trees cease making food and prepare for a state of hibernation in the winter. In due time, the leaves of many trees will drop off, but in the meantime, they offer a firework display of colors in nature. These are shots of that display that I managed to capture in Caldwell Woods, Chicago, IL.
